prochoicebecausefuckoff:

Laverne Cox was purposefully kept off the Times 100 list.

Just let that sink in.

Oh and before you come at me, I do not care what you say because she was well over 90 fucking percent

If you don’t think that’s utterly fucking disgusting and transmisogynist then I have officially nothing to say to you and you may vacate my life immediately

This woman is a feminist icon. She has been raising awareness for trans rights everywhere. She is the driving force behind the Free CeCe docuementary. She is an inspiration to women everywhere

And they fucking kept her off the list.

Fuck all of your excuses this was blatant erasure and transmisogynist violence.

just think about y’all millions and millions of little dark skinned black girls are going to go to the supermarket with their parents this month and when they’re waiting in line at the check out aisle they’re going to look up and see Lupita Nyong’o being hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world god is amazing

sapphicnymph:

leaving Laverne Cox off of the Time top 100 despite the overwhelming support she received is an act of violence and erasure towards trans women

I’m Not A Joke (No Soy Tu Chiste) was begun in Venezuela on January 23, 2013 by writer, illustrator, and activist Daniel Arzola (@Arzola_d) It became the first Venezuelan viral campaign that through art raised awareness of the prejudice and violent acts performed against the LGBTI community around the world. Within only 6 months of its creation the campaign has reached more than a million people in more than thirty countries including Russia, where it is used today illegally as a tool for human rights protests. Today, the campaign is available in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and holds 50 illustrated posters that through the psychology of color illustrate matters dealing with same-sex marriage, gender roles, bullying, and a variety of other current social issues. It has become viral on Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter.

Anastasia

Favorite Characters - Vladimir & Sophie

god Sophia had a double chin and bingo wings and a booty like a shelf and she was still hot as fuck. and Anastasia was hot. and the empress was hot. All the ladies were pretty but totally different sizes and ages and things were wonderful.

Sophie wasn’t just on screen to be fat and funny. She was depicted as actually DESIRABLE. I was a little stick of a child when this movie came out and that definitely effected my views of beauty. As a much thicker adult it still means a lot to me now.

^ SO MUCH THIS

It made me SO happy to see a lady who wasn’t super skinny still being portrayed as being sexy and desirable…

We need more movies like this…with characters like this, who aren’t just treated like walking punchlines because of their bodies…

Reblogging again because it’s still important.
